Our History
The Trolley House was originally at the end of the line for the Boise Transit System’s street car. The company went bankrupt in the 1920’s and a restaurant named the Avenue Inn was established. They were known for generous portions and good food, and a big sign outside, “Warm Beers, And Lousy Food”.
In 1976 the restaurant became the Trolley House, a family owned and operated business that has continued the traditions of generous portions, quality food and a commitment to excellent service. The building is in the historic district of Warm Springs Ave. , and every effort has been made to preserve the history and charm of the building. We are bringing a new concept to an old favorite, and building new traditions for the next generation of Boiseans.
